Furnishing a Newly Purchased Home in Los Gatos

Our client recently purchased a property in the Los Gatos area and entrusted White Square Group with the task of furnishing the home. We began by conducting an initial meeting with the client, during which we captured photos and videos of the property. This allowed us to gain a comprehensive understanding of the space and the client’s vision.

Client Requirements:

Living Room: The client requested a comfortable yet slightly formal aesthetic for the living room. Additionally, he emphasized the need to keep the space open and uncluttered, as it is occasionally used as a play area for his children.

Primary Bedroom: The client envisioned the primary bedroom as a multifunctional space, not only for sleeping but also for work and relaxation.

Maintaining Spaciousness: The guest bedrooms are relatively small, and the client expressed a desire to repurpose them for other functions, such as a gym and a playroom.

Color Palette: The client preferred a color palette with no busy patterns or harsh colors, opting for a calm and cohesive look.

Our Process and Solution:

Vendor Selection: We began by creating a list of vendors that aligned with the client's budget. For each piece of furniture, we selected multiple options from these vendors and crafted mood boards for each room to provide the client with a clear visual representation of the potential design.

Living Room: Taking into account the size and location of the living room, we opted for a long sofa paired with two accent chairs to create a formal yet comfortable atmosphere. A large coffee table was added to align the space with the fireplace, providing both an elegant focal point and enough room for entertaining guests and allowing the children to play.

Primary Bedroom: To meet the client's needs, we divided the primary bedroom into three distinct areas. One area is dedicated to the bed, fulfilling the room's primary purpose. We also designated a corner for a medium-sized desk for daily work tasks and created a cozy nook with a recliner chair for relaxation.

Guest Bedrooms: Given the client's desire for multifunctional spaces, we chose Murphy beds for both guest bedrooms. This decision maximizes the functionality of the rooms, allowing them to serve as a home gym and play area when not accommodating guests.

Color Palette and Materials:

We selected an earthy tone color palette, incorporating wood and natural linen fabrics to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Considering the client's two children and a dog, we recommended materials that are easy to clean and durable, ensuring the space remains both beautiful and practical.
